What DId I Ever Do?

I need to know what I ever did to get a child like my middle boy. God knows, I love him more than life itself but seriously at 16 almost 17 he needs to grow up some. I know it seems like it's all I talk about anymore.
He's currently grounded for skipping classes. Has been since last Friday (school wasn't even in for two weeks!) Monday he CHOSE to skip again. Tuesday too. Monday night I took his internet away and any freedom he plans for the rest of the school year.
He's making me question my sanity. I am feeling inadequate. I don't know what to do with him. And I'm wondering what did I ever do to get this crap?
When I feel like this it's like I'm starting to drown again and I sure as hell don't want to go down ago. I don't even want to go under for a moment. I hate how these things can control my depression. I am really trying to stay afloat.
I am fighting with everything I have.

I agree, talk to a school counselor about it. Find out the reason that he's acting the way he is. If there's something going on at school maybe they can fix it. It it's just laziness, keep taking his priviledges away and sooner or later he will get the picture.
My sons hated high school and it was a fight all through it. They also would skip classes. They told me they wanted to get their GED and I finally relented and let them. They passed the test with flying colors and they're both doing ok even though they didn't get the diploma.

Laurie - The VP and I made a plan and it's working. He rides him at school, makes sure he is in class. And I keep following through with his punishments. He's still grounded and is going to be for a while.
Lisa - I swear he is just draining me but it'll be okay. Since I've pretty much taken all his privileges away, he's been going to class. The reason why he's not going to class is because 2 of his friends have spares. And he doesn'.t

hi wanda - don't want to depress you further but my son is 28 and still driving me mad - if he doesn't move out soon I will but where too?? My only solace is writing my blog http://www.hivine.wordpress.com

Maybe go to the school together and have a meeting with his counselor. There might be a problem he is having at school which is making him skip. Or it could be that he just doesn't want to go and wants to hang with his friends instead.
If it's the latter, maybe his counselor can make him understand that if he doesn't finish school, the consequences will be bad.
